Nora Boedeker is a naturalistic oil painter. Her work is inspired by the plant models she created for the Milwaukee Public Museum. A diversity of plant forms, color, textures and shapes are expressed in her paintings. Nora's award winning larger than life scale paintings have been shown throughout the midwest and in both group and solo shows. Nora continues to work as a member of the exhibits staff of the Milwaukee Public Museum and also on traveling exhibits for Arts and Exhibitions International, most notably as the scenic painter for the King Tut exhibit.

A graduate of the Milwaukee Institue of Art and Design, Nora is an active member of the Wisconsin Visual Artists and the Milwaukee Artists Resource Network. She lives in Glendale, Wisconsin.

Nora is represented by the Dooryard Gallery in Elm Grove, WI.

News:

I have photographs in the "It's me again" exhibit at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan.

I have agreed to judge for the National Scholastic Art Awards at the Milwaukee Art Museum in January 2012. (I'm very honored.)

I have a solo show at Danceworks studio, Milwaukee and was their featured artist during Gallery night, October 2011. Show runs until December 9th.--Show Extended until January 7th, 2012.

I will have a solo show at the University of Sheboygan campus gallery in July 2012.

I will be in Seattle at the Pacific Science Center, May 2012 with installation of: "Tutankhamun, The Golden King and the Great Pharaohs" exhibit.

I will be teaching in Spring 2012 at the Cedarburg Cultural Center.

I will continue as always, part time maintenance work for the Milwaukee Public Museum.
